Weekly Update: September 3, 2025

Word from the Pastor:

I pray this week’s newsletter finds you well. I’m back from Iowa and have already heard wonderful things about last Sunday’s Gospel music service. This Sunday we begin a new series, The Story We Find Ourselves In. It is a story many of you have heard before, but we’ll retell it from a fresh vantage point. My hope is that it sinks deeply into our hearts—not just as a story that happened once, but as a story that continues to unfold in every time and place with new characters and settings. This series will help us see the world into which the Messiah came, why he was needed, and how we are called to live God’s story within the one we find ourselves in today.

There are a couple things I wanted to let you know about:

  • Listen: By this Friday, all the sermons for the Liturgical Theology series should be up and ready for listening, HERE or HERE if you prefer Podcasts.

  • Read: Each week, I’ll plan to send out a set of scriptures for you to read before Sunday’s sermon. The goal is to give you a fuller context—voices of history, lament, hope, and interpretation—that will help you step more deeply into the story we’ll explore together.:

We'll see you Sunday!
