Weekly Update: August 20, 2025

Word from the Pastor:

I hope this newsletter finds you well. Thank you for allowing my wife and me to step away and celebrate her sister’s 50th—we had a wonderful time. With back-to-school in full swing, life is busy in our household too: our oldest just started her senior year at UCF, our youngest began her junior year of high school last week, Eden starts classes and a new job today, and Ashton leaves this weekend for his congressional internship in D.C. So if you’re feeling the back-to-school rush, we get it!

This Sunday, August 24, we’ll close out our summer series, Why We Do What We Do [aka A Primer on Liturgical Theology]. Over the past weeks we’ve explored giving, singing, the sacraments, confession, and prayer. We’ll wrap things up with a primer on Scripture—looking at common pitfalls in reading it and better ways to frame our engagement with it.

Then on August 31, we’ll celebrate our 5th Sunday Gospel Band Sunday, followed by the launch of our Fall Series on September 7.

Have a great week and we'll see you Sunday!
